Very early in my professional writing career, I received the opportunity to write local business profiles for Heritage Media Corporation. They compiled my work and that of others in a book called, A Grand Adventure: The Heritage of Grand Rapids, Michigan. That opportunity eventually led to a larger project: compiling a photo history of Kentwood, a historic neighborhood located just outside Grand Rapids, Michigan.
